Senior React Native Engineer
The Company:
Fertifa is the most comprehensive benefits provider for reproductive, hormonal, and sexual health in Europe. We make reproductive health accessible for any individual, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, or relationship status.
After providing fertility clinical advice longer than anyone else in the UK/Europe, we now also provide clinical advice, wellbeing support and navigational advice for menopause, women’s health, and men’s reproductive health. Through our digital platform we supply outstanding clinical educational and awareness materials, access to holistic services and financial support with the costs of reproductive health treatment.
It is an exciting time to be part of the Fertifa journey after the company closed our seed financing round and is now well-funded for our next stage of growth and expansion. We are on the lookout for passionate and talented individuals to join us in our mission to transform reproductive health support and care in the workplace!
The next step in our journey? We’re looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to join the Tech Team.
The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the engineering team at Fertifa, a fast-growing Health Tech making a real impact on people's lives. You'll be joining as the first full time mobile engineer with the chance to own the mobile app and shape its future.
Our mobile app is the primary contact point for our patients and provides key services to patients during what can be a tough time in their lives. You'll be helping us build an app that makes this journey as smooth as possible for our patients and their families. We're a small but growing product team. We've previously outsourced engineering but are looking to bring the team in house. We want to keep the team small to allow more autonomy for our engineers and empower them to focus on problem solving, not processes. While we are not an AI company, we aim to be an AI enabled company and will be looking to invest in AI tools and services that can enable us to work smarter as engineers.
This role reports to the Head of Engineering, while working closely with our designer and Head of Product.
About you:
- You have experience building, deploying and maintaining React Native apps to both the App and Play Store.
- You feel comfortable owning the mobile app. While others may help code, we're looking for someone to own the technical decisions relating to building the app.
- You have extensive experience with React Native and Typescript.
- You have experience writing modular, well-tested, and maintainable code.
- You enjoy learning and are proactive about implementing best practices.
- You like to find solutions, not just raise issues. We’re a small team and we like people who are proactive and pragmatic in problem-solving.
Our stack:
- React Native app built with Typescript
- React/Node for our internal services, built in Typescript
- Node with Typescript for our APIs
- We use Jest as our testing library, but considering using WebdriverIO to help with mobile automation testing
- Storybook for our shared React Components
- AWS + Docker for our infrastructure. Managed using CDK
- GitHub for source control
What we offer:
- Competitive salary from £70k - £90k per annum depending on experience
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Hybrid working model with at least two days per week in the office near London Bridge (SE1)
- 3 days wellbeing days
- Comprehensive healthcare cash plan
- EMI share option scheme (4-year vesting with 1 year cliff)
- Enhanced family-forming, fertility, menopause, women's health and men's health policies, as well as progressive health leave for reproductive health challenges
- Discounted reproductive health benefits e.g., fertility, menopause & men’s health
- Team socials
- Monthly travel allowance
- £1k learning budget post probation
