About the role:
At Billie, we're making business-to-business (B2B) finance simpler and more efficient. Our Risk Assessment team is central to this mission, tackling important areas like credit risk and fraud detection. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us create robust, high-quality systems that support real-time financial decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing
You'll design, develop, test, launch, and maintain our backend systems, always looking for ways to make them better.
You'll work closely with our Data Science experts to put machine learning models into action.
You'll help us continuously improve our automated build and deployment (CI/CD) practices.
You'll advocate for strong engineering standards, with an emphasis on clean, scalable, and secure code.

You'll take ownership of technical projects from start to finish and support colleagues through mentorship and teamwork.
Who we are looking for:
Strong experience developing with JVM-based languages, especially Kotlin and Spring Boot - Experience with PHP or Python is a plus.
A solid track record of creating large, reliable backend systems that are consistently available.
Practical experience with cloud-based environments (like AWS) and microservice architecture.
A good understanding of stable API design, relational databases (like MySQL), event-driven systems (using tools like Kafka or RabbitMQ), and how different systems integrate.
Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and experience working in teams that are focused on delivering great products.
Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
