Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
Join us as a Ground Segment Engineer, where you’ll develop our mission control center and communications infrastructure to successfully fly our Nyx missions.

Key Responsibilities
Develop our mission control center infrastructure (general facilities, voice loops, video system, backup power, etc.) and interfaces with the ISS control center (MCC-H).
Lead the selection, integration, and maintenance of ground support hardware and software for our mission control center.
Work with our ground station and satellite relay partners to ensure communications with Nyx during all phases of flight.
Work closely with the recovery team on building and maintaining our marine telemetry systems.
Work with engineers and technicians to deploy and maintain our mission control and communications infrastructure.
Oversee hardware throughout its full lifecycle, from concept and design to procurement, integration, validation, and long-term maintenance.
Diagnose and resolve ground segment issues under tight operational timelines.
Maintain asset documentation and preventative maintenance plans.
What we would love to see from you
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or mechanical engineering.
2+ years of hardware experience with spacecraft, ground stations, IT/networks, data centers, or other complex communication systems.
Strong project management skills, detail oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency.
Strong written and verbal communication of technical information.
Able to effectively manage projects and tasks at a time, while meeting aggressive deadlines.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Bonus qualifications
Experience designing, implementing and testing system-level communication architectures.
Experience in the development and installation of ground station systems.
Previous experience in a customer-facing role working through design requirements, test acceptance, and verification (especially with a government customer such as ESA/NASA).
