The opportunity
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Production team to efficiently run concurrent projects with cross-functional teams and drive process improvement.
We’re a project-based company and your primary responsibility will be to lead the installation and retrofitting of cutting-edge software and hardware solutions into heavy industrial environments.
Although you will be based in the office for the majority of your time, you will sometimes have to go on-site to absorb information, orchestrate installations, and liaise between clients and our in-house technical and commercial teams. It is vital that you are an excellent communicator, comfortable with juggling priorities and deadlines, detail focused, whilst remaining pragmatic and positive as the customer facing touchpoint during fast paced and fast changing installations.
Reporting to the Head of Production.
Responsibilities Overview
- Lead multiple projects concurrently involving the installation and retrofitting of software and hardware solutions into client sites.
- Manage data and AI model deployment pipelines to fulfil client goals
- Guide UK and international clients through all aspects of each project, including hardware installation, and update them on the project status via regular client meetings and presentations.
- Manage third party suppliers and customer required actions as part of project delivery.
- Document and track action items from project kick-off, design review, installation review and installation aftercare. Hold regular client project meetings for internal team.
- Plan Production team's sprints, ensuring with other PMs that tasks are evenly distributed throughout the team, and no one is overloaded.
- Communicate well with each department throughout the business, clearly identifying issues and reporting any changes back to the client. Pro-actively keep the client informed with clear and concise written updates.
- Establish, monitor and maintain budgets through the entire project lifecycle, reporting clearly upon conclusion.
- Effectively manage project/commercial risk. Respond effectively to change requests or project variations.
- Improve our processes – work to make our processes more efficient and robust. This includes the AI model development and deployment plus manufacturing and hardware product delivery.
- We are looking for an organised project manager used to working on medium-cycle, complex and fast-paced projects with multiple stakeholders.
- You would have previous experience in an environment involving operations, project management or manufacturing.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role eeither retrofitting or installing new lcutting edge software and hardware solutions into heavy industrial environments.
- A willingness to be hands-on and get stuck-in with waste! This could involve sampling, testing, or even helping build a robot frame.
It’s a bonus if you have…
- An additional language; fluent or to a business standard.
- A computer science, general engineering or STEM background.
- Experience in linking projects milestones with software sprint cycles (ideally within JIRA)
- Experience developing AI models and working with data/ML teams
- Experience overseeing CE Marking for products in the field.
- Technical experience with hardware products, metalwork fabrication, or industrial environments
