QphoX is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join us in developing and building our quantum modem. In order to achieve our mission, we are looking for enthusiastic candidates with engineering skills and resourcefulness.

You will be involved in:
- Helping us design, develop, and build supporting hardware for our microwave to optical transducers and opto-electronic hardware
- Collecting and setting requirements, as well as brainstorming potential solutions
- Rapid prototyping to demonstrate key concepts and to inform design changes
- Implementing a New Product Introduction (NPI) process including developing small-scale production lines
- Managing projects and communicating results to cross functional teams
- Overall maintenance of our products
- Working in a diverse and multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists
- Learning about photonics and their control methods
Skills and knowledge you will bring to QphoX:
- BSc/MSc with practical experience
- Previous experience with CAD software e.g Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, etc
- Previous experience with 3D printing
- Desing for manufacturing and design for testing knowledge
- Experience designing hardware for scalability and robustness
- Programming with Python for data acquisition, measurement and/or analysis
- Strong background in particularly (but not limited to) sectors such as mechatronics, telecommunications or robotics
- At least 5 years of proven experience
- Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers, scientists and technicians with a wide range of expertise
- Good organizational and planning skills to achieve set goals on time
- Passion for learning new tools and techniques
Supplementary skills set:
- Experience designing hardware for cryogenic applications
- Understanding of microwave and/or photonics engineering principles
- Experience using schematic capture and PCB design software such as Altium
