About the Role
We are an ambitious fintech startup seeking a proactive and knowledgeable HR Generalist to join our dynamic People Team. This role is a key pillar in fostering a positive employee experience through efficient administration, effective recruitment, seamless onboarding and offboarding, and active promotion of our company culture and employer brand.
Key Responsibilities
1. Labour Law Compliance & Employee Relations
- Implement guidance provided by the Legal Advisor to align HR policies, procedures, and practices with applicable labour laws, ensuring Flow48 remains compliant across all jurisdictions.
- Additional knowledge of UAE and Saudi Arabian labour laws is a plus to support cross-border HR activities.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance on legal and procedural matters.
2. Documentation and HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and personnel files in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Manage employment contracts, amendments, and all other employee documentation.
- Generate HR reports and metrics to support management decision-making.
3. Onboarding and Offboarding
- Coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process to ensure new hires have a smooth integration experience.
- Prepare onboarding documentation, conduct orientation sessions, and facilitate introductions to teams and company culture.
- Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews, clearance procedures, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
4. Recruitment Support
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand role requirements and support the end-to-end recruitment process.
- Manage job postings, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and support offer processes for assigned roles.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for key positions.
5. Employer Branding & Culture Promotion
- Act as an ambassador for the company culture and values, fostering employee engagement initiatives.
- Support internal communication efforts to promote employer branding, including organizing events, workshops, and recognition programs.
- Collaborate with Marketing/Communications teams to align employer branding initiatives internally.
6. Other HR Activities
- Support performance management processes and training initiatives as needed.
- Assist in ad hoc HR projects and continuous improvement of HR policies and practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience (1+ years) as an HR Generalist or similar HR role, preferably in South Africa.
- Understanding of South African Labour Law; additional knowledge of UAE and Saudi Arabian labour laws is a plus.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with great attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for people and culture.
