Khazna has received the Central Bank of Egypt’s first prepaid card license and aims to become the go-to specialized bank for underbanked mid-to-low-income consumers across the Middle East. In the next phase of its journey, Khazna is looking to continue scaling up its operations in Egypt and to launch its operations in Saudi Arabia.

Job Summary 💼
As a Data Engineer at Khazna, you will work on building robust, scalable data pipelines, supporting analytics and product teams with high-quality, reliable data. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will work alongside other engineers, analysts, and data scientists to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
This position is ideal for someone with solid technical foundations in data engineering who is ready to take ownership of projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and grow their impact in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Responsibilities📋
Data Pipeline Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for both batch and real-time use cases using tools such as DBT, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies.
- Build robust ETL/ELT processes to extract data from various sources, transform it for business use, and load it into our data warehouse or data lake.
- Implement and monitor data validation and quality checks to ensure high reliability and accuracy across all data workflows.
- Troubleshoot data issues quickly and effectively, collaborating with stakeholders to identify root causes and long-term solutions.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Support
- Partner with analytics, product, and engineering teams to understand data needs and deliver clean, well-modeled datasets.
- Contribute to the creation of reusable data models and marts that enable self-service analytics and machine learning.
- Provide support for data onboarding and integration with new sources and APIs.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning.
- Stay current on data engineering trends and bring new ideas for improving our platform, tools, or practices.
Qualifications🎓
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering preferably in fintech, tech startups, or consumer-focused companies.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing principles, and ETL/ELT design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with orchestration and data transformation tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Dagster, Spark, Kafka, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of modern data engineering tools (e.g. Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Dagster, DBT, AirByte, Airflow, or similar technologies.)
- Proficient in Python and SQL for data processing and transformation.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Preferably GCP).
