Job Description
Production Manager - Warrington
4 on, 4 off, 12 hour shifts
The role
As part of our Unbox tribe, the Operational focus is on Customer’s order arriving quickly, with the perfect, fresh ingredients giving them the ultimate 'unboxing' experience.
Production Manager reports to the Operations Manager, and is responsible for the full end-to-end factory floor operations on shift – from inbound delivery and box creation through to outbound fulfilment.
You’ll lead the operational management team (including Supervisors and Team Leads) to ensure safety, quality, cost and team engagement targets are consistently met. You’ll be at the heart of our fast-paced fulfilment environment, where leadership, collaboration and improvement mindset are key to success.
What you’ll do
Lead the factory floor shift operation, ensuring consistent delivery from inbound to outbound (Production and Warehouse functions.)
Champion health & safety culture, driving risk awareness, reporting and training initiatives across your shift
Embed high-quality standards throughout operations, resolving non-conformances with effective root cause and corrective actions
Build an engaged, high-performing team by coaching leaders, setting clear objectives, holding 1:1s and performance reviews
Drive shift-level performance and operational KPIs including OTIF, labour cost, pick rates, throughput, changeover times, and box completion
Manage people processes including recruitment, onboarding, shift communication, absence, training, and conduct/performance management
Collaborate with internal teams including Planning, Supply Chain, Inventory and Engineering to ensure operational continuity and stock accuracy
Promote a continuous improvement mindset through Lean initiatives and GFS standards
Deputise for the Operations Manager when required
Who you are
Experienced in a production or fulfilment environment, within FMCG
Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills
Organised, detail-oriented and calm under pressure
Collaborative, forward-thinking and approachable leader
Skilled in coaching and developing individuals and teams
Financially and operationally aware, with a solid grasp of KPIs and cost management
Comfortable navigating warehouse systems, with a high level of IT literacy (e.g. Google Sheets)
Experienced in Lean methodology or continuous improvement projects
Qualifications
No formal qualifications required, HACCP and MHE beneficial
