Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
Internship Overview
As a GNC Intern, you will support the GNC team in several key areas:
Simulation Visualization Tools
You will help develop and integrate plotting and visualization capabilities to monitor and analyze simulation results. These tools will support the team in validating GNC algorithms and system performance.
Sensor Characterization Campaign
You will participate in the testing and analysis of the navigation sensor suite, contributing to the characterization of sensor behavior and performance under various conditions.
Sensor Modeling & GNC Algorithm Refinement
Depending on your progress and interests, you may also contribute to the implementation of sensor models and participate in the refinement of GNC algorithms used in simulation and flight software.
This internship offers a hands-on experience in spacecraft GNC systems, simulation environments, and sensor testing workflows, with opportunities to contribute to real engineering developments.
Key Responsibilities
Develop Python-based plotting tools to visualize simulation outputs (e.g., trajectories, attitude, sensor data).
Collaborate with GNC engineers to define visualization needs and integrate tools into existing workflows.
Assist in the setup and execution of sensor characterization tests.
Analyze sensor data and contribute to performance reports.
Implement basic sensor models and integrate them into simulation environments.
Support refinement and testing of GNC algorithms in simulation.
Contribute to documentation and automation of test results and analysis.
What We’re Looking For
