About the Role
MUBI is entering an exciting new phase of growth, and we are looking for a Metadata Projects Coordinator to join our expanding Metadata team in Bristol. This is a mostly remote role, however you will be expected to attend our central Bristol office once a week.
This is an entry-level, deadline-driven role, where you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely metadata coverage across MUBI’s ever-changing streaming catalogue and wider film database. You will handle a variety of film metadata, including headshots, film stills, festivals and awards information, trailers, quotes and preview clips. You will also work closely with our Metadata Projects team on a variety of one-off metadata projects as they arise.
If you are passionate about film and love researching movie information, we want to hear from you!
Where you’ll have impact:
Oversee the day-to-day running of our metadata acquisition workflows, sourcing and verifying content on some of the biggest MUBI films releasing in cinemas and streaming globally.
Add / edit information on the film database based on suggestions from MUBI Contributors.
Research and complete festival programme and awards data for some of the most high-profile global film events.
Analyse our catalogue of non-streaming films, using online sources to tag moods and plot points on key film pages.
Contribute to one-off metadata projects, as and when required.
What you’ll bring:
A passion for cinema and a love of online research
A strong interest in the independent film festival and awards circuit
The ability to meet daily deadlines and prioritise accordingly
A keen eye for detail, ensuring information on MUBI is accurate and complete
The ability to adapt to the changing needs of the company
A collaborative approach to work
A proactive mindset with ideas for improving your processes
Familiarity with digital film and news sources (e.g. IMDb, Letterboxd, Variety)
Experience with Google Workspace, Slack
Bonus: Experience managing databases
Bonus: SQL skills
We want to make cinema accessible to everyone. We believe people from different backgrounds bring different ideas that foster innovation and engagement, allowing us to attract great people to develop the best experience for our users.
