Team Overview
The Y TREE Client Advice team is one of the largest in the business. As a Financial Adviser, you will be the face of Y TREE and the first point of contact to a number of sophisticated Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) Y TREE Clients; industry leaders in the worlds of Private Equity, Corporate Finance and Law. By harnessing the power of the financial intelligence our product garners to provide financial advice, you will be front and centre of the strides we are making in the work of personal finance.
Role Overview
As a Financial Adviser, you’ll be at the heart of our client relationships - crafting and managing personalised Financial Life Strategies that evolve with each client’s goals and circumstances. From investment advice and tax planning to life events and cashflow, you’ll guide clients through every chapter of their financial journey, supported by the Data, Product, Teach and IFLS teams.
The Role
- As the Financial Adviser, you will build relationships with our clients to understand their financial and life goals. We like you to meet our clients in person so to do so, you will need to be accessible to the City for this role.
- Once you have identified our client's financial goals, you will build and oversee the execution of their Financial Life Strategy; the underpinning of all of the personalised work we do for them.
- Life happens, and things change. You will build an ongoing relationship with the clients and carry out all the work that goes into cultivating this relationship and continuously managing the strategy we are taking for them. This includes responding to queries, conducting client meetings and of course, offering financial advice.
- This is a holistic role that covers cashflow projections, lifetime events, investment advice and tax. We have an incredible Investment and Financial Life Solutions team who are here to support you with specialist investment market analysis and help you build investment advice.
- Through all of this you will undoubtedly become an expert in our technology and be able to leverage it to drive optimal performance outcomes for clients. We want to hear their feedback and yours. Working in collaboration with our product and development teams you will have the opportunity to help drive innovation and efficiencies in our technology.
- From time to time we run events for our clients and key stakeholders in London. Previous events have included discussions with journalists, activists and even renowned sculptor Anthony Gormley as well as a private showing of an immersive art exhibition. When these events run, you may be asked to participate as a representative from Y TREE.
- As Y TREE grows, the future of this role can be shaped by the individual who joins us. Whether you would like to grow the number of clients you manage, specialise in an area of personal finance or start managing teams of other advisors, associates and analysts we follow the road best suited to you in your pathway to progression.
Requirements
The Technical Bit
- You must hold a Chartered certificate and be regulated by the FCA to give financial advice. This could be through a variety of routes including CFA, CISI or other.
- We would like you to hold significant experience providing financial advice to sophisticated High Net Worth (HNW) and UHNW clients in the Private Equity space.
- Ideally, we are looking for somebody who has spent 8+ years in the industry, and at least 18 months as an adviser.
- Given the nature of the role, we would like you to have a thorough understanding of common tax wrappers (e.g. ISAs, pensions, offshore bonds) held by UK based HNW and UHNW clients.
- Additionally, we would like you to have demonstrable experience in sophisticated cash-flow planning and financial modelling.
The Person
- We want you to be warm and engaging, with the ability to build strong, well-rounded relationships.
- We are not a big financial institution (yet!) so you will need to be solutions-led and have the impetus and ability to proactively seek answers.
- We would like you to have a methodical and detail-orientated approach to work and the confidence to go toe-to-toe with sometimes demanding clients.
- Our community is where our power lies, so you must be an effective collaborator and confident working as part of a small team that is building a business.
- We are driving innovation in our area of personal finance and our product is a reflection of our team. We would like for you to be inquisitive, an independent thinker and someone eager to share ideas.
- We operate a very 'flat' hierarchy in the business, so we would like you to leave your ego at the door. Those with a people-centred approach are best suited to us and our team.
What's in it for you?
- The ability to hone your skills and cultivate your craft in a genuinely outcome-led, flexible, happy work environment. We have a hybrid working policy and the ability to flex your hours as you need. We are all adults, and we understand work needs to balance your personal life too.
- 25 days of annual leave per year. This is 25 days each year we expect you to turn your phone off and switch off; we would never ask you to book leave for a doctor's appointment or to see your children's school plays.
- Regular team socials to help you switch off from work and get to know your colleagues in an environment away from your desk. We ensure socials are well-balanced and offer a variety of activities to suit different needs so you always feel welcome.
- A welcoming, dog-friendly London office with appropriate spaces to cater for those with additional needs in the form of various breakout spaces and silent booths.
- Support for your mental and physical health in the form of online fitness classes and access to a gym group in London.
- Option for salary sacrifice scheme to help you save for the future.
- Family-friendly policies
