Your mission
Kickstart your career in the fast-evolving world of digital assets as a Mandatory Compliance Intern with us at Finoa - a regulated crypto custodian. This position is designed for students who need to complete a mandatory (unpaid) internship as part of their academic program and are eager to learn about compliance in the crypto industry.
* This is an unpaid internship.In this role, you will:
- Support the Compliance team in monitoring, interpreting, and implementing regulatory requirements relevant to crypto custody and digital asset services.
- Conduct research on German, EU, and international regulations (e.g. AMLD, MiCAR, DORA) impacting our business, helping to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Assist in the documentation and review of internal compliance processes, policies, and controls, including preparation for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Prepare materials and participate in compliance-related meetings and regulatory reporting.
- Track and summarize regulatory developments, helping to integrate new legal requirements into company operations.
- Collaborate with various departments (including AML, Legal, and Operations) to address compliance questions and support compliance-related projects.
- Contribute to compliance training initiatives and promote awareness of regulatory obligations across the company.
- Develop AI literacy in the day-to-day application of AI tools in compliance and related fields.
What you need to be successful:
- You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Law, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field, and must complete a mandatory internship as part of your studies.
- Strong interest in compliance, regulatory affairs, and the crypto/blockchain industry.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both German and English
- Proficiency in Google Workspace
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating a hands-on mentality and willingness to take initiative.
- Familiarity with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) and financial regulations is advantageous.
- Prior exposure to compliance or legal research (through coursework or previous internships) is a plus.
