We 💛 small business
We founded Holvi in 2011 in Helsinki. As self-employed people wading through oceans of paperwork, we noticed something funny going on – traditional banks were giving us the cold shoulder. Why not help ourselves? We asked. And so, with time and effort (and lots of coffee), we mastered small business finance – and Holvi was born.
Our vision is simple: Eliminate the distractions of financial admin and simplify work life, because running a business is hard enough. Small businesses shouldn’t have to worry about spreadsheets and lost receipts.
Since our inception as a pioneering fintech, we've experienced our fair share of challenges and growth. We explored different paths, and from those experiences, we've evolved. Today, we stand as a team-owned and profitable company, proud of our journey. Read more about our story here (in Finnish).
Right now, we’re looking for a Mobile Application Developer (Android & iOS) to keep that momentum going. If you want to make running a business a little easier, Holvi is for you.
Build a better future for small businesses
Our culture is built on respect and low hierarchy. We have a holistic view on development, where all our developers play an essential role in decision making.
As a Mobile Application Developer, you’ll join one of Holvi’s development teams. Each development team has its own developers, designers, and a product owner. Teams work on building new features, implementing technical improvements, and maintaining our applications.
A typical day could see you:
Designing, building and maintaining Holvi’s native Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift) apps
Integrating with our Django-powered APIs and real-time services
Partnering with designers to build great user experiences.
Writing and reviewing clean, testable well-documented code
Actively participate in daily stand-ups, refinement sessions, planning meetings, and retrospectives with the team.
Collaborate with product owners and designers to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
Contribute to the improvement of our apps through refactoring, dependency updates, and observability initiatives.
This is for you if you:
Have shipped native Android and/or iOS apps in production and worked with a sizeable codebase
Know Kotlin and Swift – or feel confident ramping up quickly on the other platform
Enjoy writing clean, maintainable code and designing performant, scalable solutions
Understand RESTful API integration, security and mobile architecture
Understand mobile application usability and IOS & Android design principles
Are familiar with mobile CI/CD, automated testing and release-pipeline tooling
Communicate clearly in English (spoken and written) and enjoy an open, collaborative team culture
Can refine and estimate requirements iteratively with product and design colleagues
Are comfortable owning your tasks and pushing them forward
It’s a plus if you:
Have experience in fintech, payments or other regulated domains
Have experience in other fields of software development as well (e.g. web services)
