Team Overview & The Role
The Platform Teams are the backbone of our infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations and providing excellent end-user support. Aligned with principles of robust and operationally focused teams, we support the company's growth by leveraging our diverse technical skills.
We are looking for a motivated and capable Platform Support Engineer to join our team. You will play a vital role in supporting our end-users, maintaining our core platforms (including but not limited to AWS and Google Workspace), and ownership and delivery of technical projects. This role offers a blend of operational responsibilities and the opportunity to drive and implement improvements within our systems and services.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve support requests logged via our Helpdesk system (Jira).
- Utilise our Mobile Device Manager to support and manage our end-user devices. We are a primarily macOS based business but have a mixture of Windows and Linux devices that are still under our umbrella.
- Operationalise platform changes and maintenance based on handovers from Platform Engineering.
- Proactively develop your technical skills and contribute to our internal knowledge base (Confluence).
- Contribute to the feedback process for on-premise platform strategies and standards.
- Provide reliable operational support for our infrastructure.
- Take full ownership of technical projects, including gathering requirements, planning, execution, and delivery.
- Stay informed about new technical solutions and contribute to the understanding and adoption of relevant technologies.
- Support Platform Engineering with office infrastructure patching if/when needed.
- Communicate effectively with the team and end-users using tools like Slack.
- User management in line with our internal RBAC policy across all systems owned/managed by the Platform Support team.
Required Skills
- Experience in Linux Administration, including navigating the command-line interface (CLI) and general system understanding. Further experience is a plus.
- Experience managing and supporting Google Workspace services.
- Familiarity with AWS, particularly around user and access management.
- Understanding of network fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot basic connectivity issues.
- Experience using a service desk system (ideally Jira) for ticket management.
- Comfortable contributing to and using a knowledge base (ideally Confluence).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Proven ability to own projects from inception to completion, including conceptualisation, task planning, and execution.
Desired Skills
- Practical experience with containerisation using Docker..
- Experience managing larger Linux environments.
- Some experience with network administration.

Location
