Team Overview & The Role
The Platform Teams are responsible for all aspects of infrastructure systems and end-user support. We are aligned with the AWS 6 pillars framework to provide a robust operationally focused team that supports the growth and delivery of cross-company goals utilising our specific skill sets.
The right candidate will be a passionate Administrator with a can-do and positive attitude. As part of the Platform teams, you will play a vital role in managing, maintaining and supporting and improving our AWS/Office Data platforms as well as resolving support requests logged via the Helpdesk system.
Main Responsibilities
- Administer, manage, and monitor databases, in all environments.
- Manage and support data within data platforms in the cloud and on premise
- Design and implement best practices for database level, schema level and object level security.
- Implement high availability, reliable and secure data platforms.
- Manage the monitoring on the data platforms including
- Performance tuning.
- Own and review backup and retention policies.
- Work collaboratively with technology teams and users to implement solutions/improvements and issue resolution
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support deployment activities
Required Skills
- Strong experience in AWS cloud based data platforms
- Strong experience in PostgreSQL database administration (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing
- Strong understanding of managing and maintaining Postgres instances
- Experience with data platform maintenance (table partitioning, replication, encryption, recovery, clustering)
- Experience with MongoDB/DynamoDB and S3
Desired Skills
- Containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Kafka
- Terraform

Location
- Central London (Hybrid - 2 days a week in the office)
