The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Health Tech company that is making a real impact in people’s lives. As a Consultant Fertility Specialist at Fertifa, you will be a key clinical expert within our team, providing specialist advice and support to individuals navigating their fertility journey.
This role will report to the Head of Clinical Services while working closely with other clinical specialists, patient advisors, and the wider team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold a valid GMC registration and be eligible for consultant-level practice.
- A minimum of 4 years' clinical experience in Reproductive Medicine, with demonstrated competence in managing a wide range of fertility and reproductive health conditions.
- Membership of or accreditation by relevant professional bodies such as BFS, RCOG, ESHRE, or similar is highly desirable.
- Expertise in interpreting complex fertility investigations, including but not limited to, semen analysis, ovarian reserve testing, genetic testing, and advanced imaging techniques.
- Strong clinical knowledge in reproductive endocrinology, IVF, ICSI, egg freezing, and fertility preservation, among other reproductive treatments.
- Proven experience in delivering health education and evidence-based promotion of best practices in reproductive medicine.
- Advanced IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Semble, and relevant clinical platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Focus:
- Serve as a senior clinical expert for patient inquiries, providing comprehensive and evidence-based guidance on a broad spectrum of fertility and reproductive health topics, tailored to individual patient needs.
- Carry out fertility consultations, including patients with complex clinical histories or multiple failed cycles, providing expert assessments and treatment recommendations.
- Critically review fertility investigations and patient clinical histories, ensuring the interpretation of results is accurate and informing next-step recommendations.
- Provide second opinions for patients seeking alternative fertility pathways or treatment options, applying in-depth knowledge of emerging clinical practices.
- Deliver high-level care to patients undergoing complex reproductive treatments, ensuring the holistic integration of fertility treatments, psychological support, and pre- and post-treatment counselling.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding protocols, ensuring the privacy and safety of all patients.
- Lead complex case discussions within the clinical team, contributing insights on advanced reproductive medicine cases and fostering a collaborative approach to patient care.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed clinical reports, treatment plans, and follow-up strategies for patients undergoing fertility treatments.
- Provide exceptional clinical leadership in all interactions with patients, ensuring their experiences are compassionate, evidence-based, and supportive throughout their journey.
Operational Focus:
- Support daily clinical operations, ensuring seamless coordination of care within the team while maintaining high standards of practice and clinical governance.
- Act as a senior clinical point of contact for patient advisors and other healthcare professionals on complex clinical queries, providing expert guidance when necessary
- Collaborate with clinicians to review and streamline appointment availability, ensuring optimal patient flow and reducing wait times.
- Work closely with partner clinics, laboratories, and wellness providers to ensure the highest quality patient care and to address any clinical concerns or challenges.
- Provide expert input into the development and enhancement of digital tools and services, ensuring they align with the latest clinical evidence and support a high standard of patient care.
- Adhere to clinical protocols and SOPs, ensuring patient information and consent processes are meticulously clear, accurate, and in line with current legal and ethical standards.
- Create and lead the development of advanced educational content, including webinars, teaching sessions, and clinical workshops focused on reproductive medicine.
Leadership and Mentoring:
- Mentor junior clinical staff and patient advisors, imparting expert knowledge and supporting their ongoing professional development through clinical supervision, training, and feedback.
- Actively contribute to the development of clinical pathways, guidelines, and training programs, ensuring they reflect the latest evidence-based practices and innovations in reproductive medicine.
- Serve as a role model in the delivery of high-quality patient care, demonstrating a commitment to clinical excellence, continuous professional development, and leadership.

- Willingness to support patients across diverse pathways, including but not limited to, women’s health, men’s health, menopause, maternity, neurodiversity, and gender affirmation.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, staying current with the latest advancements in reproductive medicine, fertility treatments, and associated healthcare practices.

Working hours & Employment type: Permanent, Part-time (ideally 2 days a week).
