As a Junior Data Engineer, you will have a major impact by empowering the company across different areas, like GTM and Product, in always making data-driven decisions. You will build and optimize the data pipelines that ingest and process data from a variety of internal and external sources. You will also work closely with other engineers and business stakeholders, using your technical skills to understand business needs and translate them into AI-enhanced solutions.
Your role will also be instrumental in shaping the future of our data platform by actively working with our AI-augmented data engineering tooling. You will be using the latest tooling (currently Claude Code and your IDE of choice, including Cursor or Github Copilot) and adopting it for new workflows and use cases, as well as adopting it for emerging ones. As part of your journey with us, you will grow further into an AI-accelerated engineer that significantly punches above their own weight.
In this role, you can earn an annual target salary between 40.000 - 57.000 €.

🎯 How you can contribute to HeyJobs
Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for key business areas like GTM and Product, ensuring data reliability and timely delivery.
Contribute to the development of our data products by writing clean, well-tested Python and SQL code, focusing on data modeling and quality.
Proactively leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and troubleshoot issues in data pipelines.
Collaborate closely with senior data engineers, data analysts, and product managers to understand business requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to data pipeline failures.
Implement and monitor data quality checks on key datasets to ensure integrity and trustworthiness for our stakeholders.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to team documentation, helping to maintain a high standard of quality and knowledge sharing.
🤝 What sets you up for success
Foundational understanding of Data Modeling techniques.
Fluency with SQL and Python
Eagerness to learn and use AI-powered coding tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor to accelerate development and problem-solving.
Familiarity with cloud data platforms, preferably AWS.
Pragmatic, can-do attitude (you like to dive and get things done).
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
You are a team player with a strong motivation to contribute to team success
Bonus Skills:
Hands-on experience with PySpark.
Familiarity with dbt.
Experience with pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow.
Experience with Data Quality frameworks like Great Expectations.
